Profiling & Analysis
- Completeness and
Validity Assessment
The assessment process is focused on the data content of
individual data fields in a data environment. The purpose
of such analysis is two-fold. The first is to determine
whether the records are having meaningful or significant
data values. The second purpose is to determine how many
records with a significant value do not have a valid data
value while keeping in mind the existing Business-Rules.
- Structural Integrity
Assessment
Structural Integrity Assessment is focused on the quality
of the construction of data records and the relationships
among data records within the data environment being evaluated.
- Frequency Distribution
& Statistical Analysis
Frequency Distributions reveal all the values in a data
element and the number of occurrences of each value. It
reveals a great deal about the condition of the data.
Data cleansing
- Automated Tool-based
In the majority of cases, it is possible to identify the
cause of incorrect data and the business rules required
to correct it. By utilizing a tool-based approach, and defining
the business rules to be applied, cleansing is done primarily
either on the source systems, or in some cases, while it
is being moved to a different target system. It is also
possible to conduct this exercise from any of our Global
delivery centers across the world to reduce costs of actual
cleansing.
- Manual Cleansing
In some other cases, it becomes difficult to predict the
rules and human intervention or inputs are required to actually
change the data. Manual cleansing can be tedious but becomes
a necessity in severe data quality situations.
